Obituary: Producer: George Martin: 1916-2016

George Martin signed The Beatles in 1962  to Parlophone Records / EMI Label. At the time he was in charge of variety music as Producer. It was the Band Manager Brian Epstein who touted their demo through the corridors of Music Companies notably Decca who turned them down. Though it was suggested that he should try EMI.

A meeting led to George Martin being persuaded to listen to their Demo that led to them being signed.

His background of classical music gave him the knowledge that would lead him and the Beatles to start a Music revolution throughout their careers. And together they broke new ground in Rock/ Pop/ Psychedelic /Ballads in the 60s.There influences went onto the 70s/80s & beyond.

The Beatles Albums were a huge success for Parlophone. The Beatles through his production would gain Singles that reached 17 Number Ones in the UK & 20 in the USA. Most of their Albums also went to No1 all over the World. When the Beatles broke up in 1969 he collaborated with Paul McCartney on solo projects. Many of the Apple artists.- (the Bands former Record Company).he produced too.

He also produced for countless world class Artists in the 70s/80s/90/00s
