Newsraid Award : Best Interview Cllr: Kim Caddy at the 2015 General Election

Newsraid Best Interview in the 2015 General Election went to Cllr Kim Caddy of the Conservative Party. In the Election Kim was the PPC Candidate for Streatham. She was up against Labours sitting MP Chukka Unmnna.

The Interview conducted at the Lambeth Count at 2:00am was supposed to be conducted by Newsraid Presenter of 2015 Chris Mitchell. But he had to leave which was left to Producer Mike Summers who was still half eating his biscuit! and was caught off guard with the arrival of PPC Kim Caddy. She was asked  about her campaign and she outlined what she was doing to help the people in Streatham. But the difference was she didn’t say the usual Party line but was friendly and competent about her policy. When it came to select the interview from the 12 PPCs from 3 areas Lambeth, Wandsworth and Wimbledon & Merton.  Cllr: Kim Caddy was selected by Newsraid.

She replaces last years recipient  Deputy Labour leader for Wandsworth & Current GLA Assembly Candidate Cllr: Leonie Cooper
