Wimbledown? Newsraid investigates the Youth Policy of Merton Council, LTA and The All England Tennis Club

Newsraid investigates on the Tennis Game for the future of Youth in the UK. Over the last few years LTA, The Wimbledon All England Tennis Club & Merton Borough Council have together promoted and invested in the Courts at Wimbledon Park which is close to the Wimbledon Championship. Every year the Public have been told about the inward in vestment for youth and the facilities. But when Newsraid visited the Grounds at Wimbledon Park, we found that that only a few courts were good enough to play on Astra turf. No Clay Courts were available thus stopping development of Young Tennis players practising on Slow courts to develop consistent play from the base line. No Grass Courts to teach players how to play on  fast surface. And no Bannering from Wimbledon All England and Major Tennis Companies to excite and give credibility to the  Grounds.  Unlike various French and Spanish Tennis grounds who produce competitive and stunning Tennis courts that are similar to the Grand Slams and big Tournaments. Many Tennis Courts in Sw19 and local areas who also charge high fees are in bad repair. i.e Tennis Nets and surface.
