Claire Mansfield
Veteran – some might say vintage – rock presenter Claire Mansfield cut her broadcasting teeth co-founding London’s biggest pirate rock radio station Rock-FM in the 80’s. The station championed new, unsigned bands, and was instrumental in breaking artists like the Lightning Seeds, The Voice of the Beehive, Shy and Strangeways. Claire presented shows for most of London’s….ahem…unofficial rock stations including Raiders FM, spearheading the rise of female rock DJ’s in the then stubbornly patriarchal world of rock pirates.
A prominent and vocal campaigner for a dedicated legal UK rock station, Claire worked on several community radio campaigns before re-joining Raiders Broadcast, an early adopter of internet broadcasting, as Programme Controller.
